About Us
Anderson's Warehouse Furniture started in 1970 as a warehouse for all kinds of items. Bill Anderson, Founder of Anderson’s Warehouse Furniture, would search the country for anything he could buy and resell. One day he came across a company in Fort Smith, Arkansas known as Riverside-Furniture. He bought a semi load of swivel rockers put them in the warehouse, got on the radio and advertised them at $5 over what he paid for them, selling out in about 10 days. From that point on, he concentrated on furniture. That is where the name Anderson's Warehouse Furniture originated.
Fast forward to 2001 Bill’s son Lowell Anderson and his wife Michelle, took over the business to make it a second-generation store as it is today. As business grew over the years in the original Pittsburg, Illinois location, they opened a second store in Herrin, Illinois. In June of 2018, the store had a devastating fire at the Pittsburg location. While this was a catastrophic loss for, they remained open at the Herrin location to serve all of our customers. We were fortunate to relocate and open a larger brand-new store in June of 2019, in Marion, Illinois, located in the Old Sears Building at 3000 West DeYoung Street as Anderson’s Furniture & Mattress.
As our brands in furniture and mattresses and business ventures have expanded through the years, we have since changed our name to Anderson’s Family of Stores, becoming one of largest furniture stores in the area! With additions of Anderson’s Outlet and Anderson’s Mattress Super Store in our Marion, IL location, we now have over 100,00 square feet of showroom space! In October of 2023 we also acquired another store with similar brands to our current store to be able to provide two locations to serve you. We are the proud owners of Furniture King in Carbondale, Illinois.
Combined we have over 150,000 square feet of brand name furniture and mattresses, such as, La-Z-Boy, Ashley, England, Flexsteel, and more. We also carry a luxury line that has exquisite brands such as Natuzzi Editions, Smith Brothers Upholstery, Bernhardt, Stickley, Universal and more. Our Mattress Super Store at both locations offer superior service with a 90-day sleep guarantee and same day delivery on mattresses. Carrying the top brands in mattresses, with brands such as Tempur-Pedic, Stearns & Foster, Sealy, Spring Air and Sierra Sleep. We also have one of the largest Tempur-Pedic selections in Southern Illinois.
